WHAT WOMAN WANT…..
FROM oceanfront
residence club AND Daufuskie Island
ü To have a sense that our concerns
matter, not to be brushed off and ignored as they have been
ü To be treated like a client,
not a pest or troublemaker, when service complaints are offered to the resort staff or RBC management
ü To not have to cook every
meal because the restaurant options are so poor
ü To have a grocery store on
the island
ü To be able to have pool side
food-service during the day for the family without paying exorbitant prices (like $10/hot dog). While I may have the resources, I hate the feeling of being gouged!
ü To have restaurant choices
that are child-friendly and serve casual food that children like
ü To have organized games and
activities for the kids during the day that are reasonably priced
ü To have adequate staff at
the restaurants and on the property to support island guests and resolve problems that surface during your stay
ü To have comfortable chairs
in good repair at the poolside and beach, rather than those that are falling apart
ü To have some shops on the
island that are available for island type clothes, souvenirs, sandwich shop, ice cream shop, pizza and maybe even a “pub”
that can serve as our “hang-out”; … our own Marshside Mamas
ü To have reliable ground transportation to the ferry, rather than shuttle services that are so late that they
cause the ferry service to be late and unpredictable
ü To have adequate ferry service
to Sea Pines on Hilton Head during the stay as the debarkation center site on the north end takes too long in travel time…you
lose the whole day for a visit
ü To have water sports available
on the beach for the guests
ü To have some entertainment
for adults and kids on summer nights
Bottom line…it is too much work to come to Daufuskie
Island because it does not offer the bare minimum basics
for it to be a “vacation” for mom!! It is more work than at home….
A simple reality…
you build it, they will come…
…..over and over!!
